The classroom is a professional environment. It not need be strictly formal, but some behaviors, besides impairing class show disrespect, rudeness and lack of professionalism. Thus, for the class to develop in the best way we expect a consistent behavior with respect and camaraderie environment, both for the professor and yours colleagues. |

Your attitude says a lot about you. Please show respect to your professor and classmates because you depend on them to possibly get a job, schorlarships, work as a tutor or other information that may help you both professionally and academically. Remember that many institutions and companies request letters of recommendation from professor and, therefore, your (academic or professional) future may depend on them. Some attitudes (or behaviors) that are considered not appropriate (and even offensive) include: 01. Arriving persistently late (if you have difficulties with the schedule, please let your professor know). 02. Leaving before the end of the lesson (if you have to do it let your professor know!). 03. Taking shoes off, sitting on tables, putting feets on chairs or tables. 04. Entering the room (mainly late) with the method "I´AM ARRIVED"! 05. Leaving the phone on during class or using it to play or other purpose. 06. Smoking in classroom or in the corridors of the building (prohibited by federal law). 07. Not comply with requests (interventions) of the professor or peers. 08. Eating in the classroom. 09. Yawning spitefully. 10. Do not close the door (if it is in this condition) when entering or leaving or slam the door when leaving. 11. Damaging (scratching) public equipment (tables, desks and chairs). 12. Using the computer for other purposes except as provided in class.| 13. Reading newspapers magazines and the like. 14. Do toiletries (cut nails, floss, do makeup, etc.) in the classroom. 15. Do not dressing properly (classroom is not pub, nightclub or similar!). 16. Your professor is not your buddy. Please use the appropriate professional treatment: professor or mister (name). 17. Answering the phone in class is considered rude and bad education and the professor may ask you to leave the room. Please, only let the room to answer cell if it´s absolutely necessary, otherwise, return the connection at the end of class. Obs.: Adolescence ended in high school. At university you will be treated professionally and as an adult. So try to behave as such. Here you can still make some mistakes, but the labor market is much less forgiving of mistakes and certain behaviors. So the university is a great place to form good habits and modifying anti professional attitudes The professor, normally, reviews the grades and makes the necessary rounding (for the student). If you have issues about the evaluation, please ask (politely) a review. Always consult your written test at the time it is received. Check if all the questions have been corrected and if the sum of points is correct. The assessment, in most cases, is subjective and dependent on the interpretation of your professor. So, try to keep a friendly and professional relationship with it, it will be healthy for both, but will certainly be more useful to you. |
